About This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the website for The Amish Way to Stretch a Dollar, presented under the publishing name Jacob Keim, handles information connected with visits, inquiries and purchases. For privacy questions, please contact [email protected].
Information We Receive
- Messages you send: if you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide.
- Purchase and support information: when assisting with an order, we may receive information such as the checkout email address, order reference, purchased product, order status and relevant customer-support communications.
- Technical information: website hosting, delivery, security and video services may process IP addresses, browser/device information, request timestamps and technical diagnostic data needed to serve or protect the website and media.
- Video information: the player saves viewing progress in your browser so you can resume the video. Cloudflare also processes video-delivery and playback information, including delivery volume, playback performance and approximate viewing location, for streaming, diagnostics and service statistics.
How Information Is Used
We use the information described above to provide and maintain the website and digital products, respond to inquiries, assist with purchases and refund requests, investigate technical problems, secure the services and comply with applicable obligations.
Service Providers
We use DigitalOcean App Platform for website hosting and Cloudflare for delivery and security services, including Cloudflare Stream for video. Support correspondence is handled through Google Workspace (Gmail). Their handling of information is subject to their applicable policies and arrangements.
EasyPay is the planned checkout service, with a MoR (Merchant of Record) whose legal name and details will be confirmed before checkout is enabled. Checkout is not currently enabled on this website. This website does not currently contain a payment-card form or an on-site contact form.
Before checkout becomes available, this policy will be updated to identify the payment and digital-delivery services actually used, the information shared with them and the applicable privacy notices. The MoR is not identified here as the operator or data controller of this website.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website’s delivery and security layer uses Cloudflare’s __cf_bm cookie to help distinguish automated traffic from human visitors and protect the service. Cloudflare describes this cookie as expiring after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Our video player uses local storage in your browser to remember your playback position, the furthest point watched and whether you have finished the video. This record has no automatic expiry in our code and remains until your browser removes it or you clear the site’s data. Our website code does not send that local progress record to a website server.
Cloudflare’s embedded player can also use browser storage for playback settings, bandwidth estimates and diagnostic session information, and send technical playback measurements to Cloudflare. The playback method depends on your browser. Video-service connections and metadata requests can begin when the page loads, before you press Play; the video does not autoplay.
We have not added advertising pixels or a separate audience-analytics tool to the current website. The hosting, security and video-service processing described above still takes place. We will update this notice and provide any required choices before adding optional analytics or advertising tracking.
You can manage cookies and stored site data through your browser settings. Clearing local data removes saved video progress; restricting storage or third-party connections may affect video playback or other service features. For questions about choices available under applicable law, contact [email protected].
Retention and Requests
We retain the information we actually receive for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, address disputes and meet applicable obligations. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests. We may need enough information to verify the request.
External Services
External checkout and payment services may collect billing, payment and transaction details directly from you under their own privacy notices. Please review the notices presented by the actual service when it becomes available. Our support team may receive the order information needed to assist you; this does not require you to email us your full card details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our website, services, or information practices. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. If we make material changes, we will provide notice on this website and any additional notice required by applicable law.
